Job Description

TENDER MANAGER
FIFE
UP TO £45,000

The position will require production of high-quality written work to support bids for opportunities. There will be a requirement to work to tight deadlines and liaise with senior staff across the business. A sound business management knowledge as well as excellent written communication skills are essential as well as good time management and prioritisation skills. The post holder will be confident working alone and able to manage multiple projects to successful outcomes.

Principal Responsibilities
Maintain an overview of existing and developing markets for tender opportunities for all department
`Own` the bid strategy
Manage the bid process, including commercial aspects
Compile bids, liaising with technical experts for relevant aspects
Compile bids, liaising with technical experts for relevant input
Ensure timely completion and submission of bids
Create and facilitate post-tender presentations
Co-ordinate clarification responses and meetings
Identify and develop key supply chain partners for tender opportunities
Identify new business opportunities through management of procurement portals
Maintain tender related documentation and ensure admin tasks are completed
Maintain annual update of supplier platforms and accreditation's
Ensure company presence on supply chain registers for existing and future clients
Oversee management of tender related material, copy, information etc
Operate effectively as a team member

Health & Safety and Environment
Ensure all work is conducted in full compliance with Company Health, Safety and Environmental Policies, associated site safety regulations and good industry practice
Adopt a pro-active approach to the Company Safety Management System ensuring procedures align with company standards
Contribute to all safety initiatives as required and lead by example
Accept challenges to safety and contribute to leadership on Safety issues
Communications/Reporting
Ensure that there is free and open communication both within and across departments
Provide accurate and timely information to Group General Manager and input into tender submission board reviews
Provide required input to departmental meetings, planning initiatives etc
Maintain tender process flow on SharePoint and update department procedures to reflect tender gateways
Identify and evaluate key risks at contract formation and seek input from other functions as appropriate (eg. Commercial, Technical, Purchasing)

Innovation/Knowledge Transfer
Promote ideas, which will increase efficiency, reduce cost or time without compromising service standards and present to head of operations
Support team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels

Team Working
Adopt a flexible working attitude to provide support across all departments to ensure team success
Be open to any changes on working practices and development within the role
Promote and develop effective working relationships with colleagues, other departments, suppliers, clients and customers
