Job Description

Job Title - Test and Trace Coordinator

Hours - 37.5 per week - Monday to Friday (Potential overtime depending on work volume)

Pay - £9.90 per hour

Location - City Treasury Hull - Initially office based for training approx 2 weeks. Potential home working on offer if desired


Role Purpose
To verify applications for Test and Trace isolation payments received from people within a household who are on low incomes and who are required to self-isolate as instructed by NHS Test & Trace. This is in line with a Local Authority's statutory obligations as per updated guidance.


Main duties
The role includes:

  • Handling personal information in order to determine employment status.
  • You will be qualifying benefits and any other information as required as part of the verification process and payment.
  • As part of the verification process, occasional telephone calls will be needed to claimants and employers.
  • Through the verification process IT databases will need to be updated.
  • Training and support will be provided, and it is expected that candidates are able to develop a good knowledge of the eligibility criteria for the scheme, and become efficient in the IT applications through which claims are verified and processed in order to enable the duties to be carried out.


Essential competencies:

  • Ability to deal effectively and courteously with customers by telephone.
  • Ability to learn, interpret, apply and explain information;
  • Ability to prioritise and work accurately to targets and deadlines.
  • Good word processing and IT skills, including an ability to use an on-line computer system to interrogate and update data.
  • Numeracy skills,
  • Ability to handle sensitive information and basic awareness of the General Data Protection Regulation principles.
  • Flexible in approach to work.
