Trainee Depot Manager-Neasdon
45 + Hours per Week ( Monday to Sat with occasional Sundays)

Who are we looking for?
Trainee Depot Manager to provide operational support to the depot manager. The role is very broad in its requirements, and we will provide a challenging but rewarding working environment.
This is very much a `hands on` role and and will consist of assisting with the weighbridge and operating mobile plant such as a Forklift truck and 360 materials handler.
The work involved will include:
" Assist with the responsibility for the Operations and Commercial activities of our busy Depot.
" Supporting and leading a team of dedicated Operations and Administration staff.
" Managing visitors, customers, drivers and contractors when on site.
" Support the depot working in line with Health & Safety regulations and Industry legislation.
" Operating mobile plant and undertaking further training where necessary.
The Trainee Depot Manager will need to develop a good understanding of metal grades, making sure landed costs of material fall within authorised price boundaries. You will be well supported by EMR`s Commercial and Finance teams when assessing budgets, pricing and P&L activities.
You will also need to develop a detailed understanding of the various operations/processes relating to ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Any previous knowledge of mobile and static plant capabilities and their maintenance requirements would also be beneficial.
The experience & attributes we are looking for:
" An appreciation for the waste metal and recycling industry is desirable.
" Experience in scrap metal or similar sectors would be ideal.
" Exceptional management skills with proven ability of leading by example.
" Entrepreneurial and resourceful qualities.
" Flexibility to meet business priorities, remaining calm under pressure.
" Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
" Organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines.
" Familiarity of Health & Safety procedures and legislation in an industrial setting.
" Availability to work Saturdays.
" Willing to undergo a financial and criminal background check.
