Job Description

Brook Street is working with our Belfast client to recruit a full time and permanent Transport Coordinator to join their expanding team

The person hired will be responsible for the planning, directing, and coordinating all the activities related to the collection and delivery services of the company for both for the Domestic and European markets.

This role will include arranging and offering transport, freight movement and supply chain solutions to a wide customer base. You will be working as part of an experienced, busy and forward-thinking team.

Main Duties

Responsible for a team of drivers and coordinate an efficient deliveries and collections service for the company
Plan, manage and organise vehicle routing and tracking, to meet both business and customer requirements.
Act as a main point of contact for all parts of the group in relation to transportation requirements.
Oversee that vehicles are properly maintained, utilised and that all necessary documentation is retained.
Ensure the service is compliant with transport policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.
Ensure all drivers are aware and compliant with company rules, health and safety, and legislative requirements.
Assist in forming potential solutions to transport problems for the company.
Evaluating the benefits and costs of different transportation strategy.
Develop and manage client relationships for both confirmed and potential customers. Identifying new business opportunities.
Inputting job details onto the internal system.
Generating commercial invoicing and other documentation.
Provide a timely response to account queries.
Undertake Credit Control duties, filing and the processing and checking of invoices. European
Act as a liaison for container and road transportation.
Organise, schedule and process Import European road freight consignments.


Criteria

GCSE or equivalent- Maths & English at grade C or above
5 year's experience in a similar role
Good geographical knowledge
Route planning experience
People management experience
Previous experience of dealing with scheduling
Experience of working in a demanding environment and to deadlines
An understanding of transport issues
Strong numeracy and literacy skills
Knowledge of ADR Hazardous goods
Good knowledge of Export documentation


Desirable

CPC in Transport (National/International)
IT Qualification in Microsoft Excel
NVQ cert/ Diploma in Customer Services

The salary will be dependent on background - £24.500 to £28,000 depending on experience
