Travel buddy role!

We are recruiting for the role of a Travel Buddy. Our client is based in Leeds and is a nationally recognised service providing exceptional services in care.

As a Travel Buddy, you will be assisting one/two staff members who work for the client with Learning Disabilities when they need to travel for work related purposes. You will be responsible for assisting them in getting their train tickets, getting on the train, helping them find their accommodation, staying with them whilst in the accommodation, assisting meal times, safeguarding and helping in the evening with any issues and general support when needed or asked for.

Dates will be sporadic, but candidates must meet with the client prior to being accepted to give support.

The ideal candidate will have a DBS on the update service or alternatively be willing to pay £46 for a DBS directly through Brook Street Disclosures, be able to provide 2 years references and also provide eligibility to work in the UK - eg driving license, passport and proof of NI.

It is essential you have a minimum of 1 years experience working with Adults with Learning Disabilities or alternatively 6 months experience with an NVQ in a relevant subject, so please only submit your application if you meet this criteria.

The hourly rate will be a generous £8.50-£9.00 per hour with sleep being paid at £9.50 per hour.

You could be expected to travel to London and stay over night, or day trips to places like Manchester or Leeds. You are able to claim back you food and drinks expenses and hotels and trains are pre-paid.
