Job Description

** Children's Care Manager **
** Wisbech, Cambridgeshire **
** Permanent and full time **
** £40,000 DOE**
** 40 hours per week **

BS Social Care are currently recruiting for a Children's Care Manager based within the Wisbech area of Cambridgeshire working 40 hours per week on a permanent basis paying an attractive salary up to £40,000. This role is to work within a home that is a registered provision which provides support and guidance for up to 16 young people on-going mental needs and challenging behaviours aged 12-18 years.

They are committed to supporting children and young people with achieving their personal best through offering a variety of services including specialist education, residential care, fostering and mental health services.

About the job; to ensure that the home meets the standards and expectations of its Statement of Purpose. To work alongside the Registered Manager to ensure policies/ procedures and resources are effectively managed and help with budgets being meet effectively. Have a responsibility with managing safeguarding/ concerns and complaints. You will be working alongside local authorities/ school/ health and other professionals. To contribute to child care planning and review meeting. You will be included in the recruitment process if new staff and retaining staff. You will need to be able to delegate appropriate duties and responsibilities where needed.

About the ideal candidate; you will need to hold an NVQ 3 Children and Young People (or equivalent) as a minimum and ideally hold or working towards an NVQ 4 Children and Young People. Knowledge of Ofsted Policies and Procedures and knowledge of the Children Act and other relevant legislation including child protection, awareness of equal opportunities, 'Every Child Matters' and ADP is important. You will have an understanding the needs of BESD children including managing challenging behaviour and hold a minimum of 1 year's relevant supervisory experience alongside experience of working in a residential setting with young people with challenging behaviour. You will have the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, the ability to work in partnership with colleagues, SSD & others, the ability to motivate & support staff It would be ideal that you hold a driving license.
