Job Description

Are you looking for a great company to work for with good benefits? My client has a new vacancy for a Weighbridge Operator, to join their St Albans team. Previous experience as a Weighbridge Operator desirable although full training on the job will be provided.

I'm looking for someone from an admin background who wants to be part of a small and fun team. The main attributes for this role are common sense, good PC skills, and someone with a good work ethic. You need to be organised and able to work as part of a team as well as independently.


Salary up to 25k
Hours of work will be Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00


Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing all vehicles entering and exiting the depot, weighing their load and recording data accurately
  • Recording and calculating inputs and outputs
  • Carrying out the necessary admin work to complete the process
  • Liaise with other depot team members keeping a steady flow of traffic moving
  • Developing knowledge of materials and the recycling industry
  • Answering the telephones in a prompt and professional manner


Experience & attributes:

  • Experience within Weighbridge - preferable but will consider candidates who do not have this experience
  • Attention to accuracy and detail
  • Communicate effectively with various customers, clients and staff
  • Prioritise workloads and work to deadlines
  • Remain calm under pressure
  • Work safely and effectively in a large industrial environment
  • Able travel to and from the depot without difficulty
