Job Description

Despatch Manager (Night Shift)


£11.88 Per hour


4 On / 4 Off 18.00pm - 06.00am

An exciting opportunity is available with a very prestige client of ours; the role is for a Despatch Manager to join the busy Despatch Team in Hull.
You will play a vital role in ensuing the smooth running of the despatch operation by implementing and supervising the collection and Despatch of products according to the sales order process schedule as directed, and ensuring all stock is rotated to prevent mis-picking of product.


Main duties include:


" Supervise the Despatch Operatives ensuring they are carrying out the correct scanning and assignment of product from boxing into stock locations and correct paperwork into Despatch
" Ensuring all Retail requirements are picked and presented in a timely manner
" Maintain satisfactory standards of performance, safety and hygiene
" Manage the order collection and palletising, including stock rotation, maintain the shelf life requirements and ensure the correct locations are used
" Maintain packaging integrity and product safety by removing any blown or damaged packages
" Take receipt of bought-in chilled products and packaging and ingredients and manage the correct re-labelling of these lines
" Ensure all orders are despatched in good time for customer receipt
" Ensure that the team are wearing the correct PPE at all times
" Liaise with office staff regarding loading and booking times
" Deliver on key performance indicators
" Carry out activities with full awareness of their impact on the environment, in terms of people and the local area
" Ensure clarity of role for team members, including assigning of tasks, coaching and providing feedback
" and other paperwork in your area
" Maintain knowledge of relevant legislation, internal company policies and procedures, codes of practice, technical specifications, COSHH regulations and developments in H.A.C.C.P systems relevant to the department
" Uphold good housekeeping and hygiene practices to ensure product safety, with particular attention to temperature control and general hygiene

Experience / Skills required;

- Previous experience of FMCG manufacturing (preferably food related)
- Knowledge of continuous improvement tools and techniques
- Computer skills (Microsoft Office) ideally with knowledge of FOPS and Nav systems
