We have an exciting opportunity available to join a large and lively team, working for a very well known retailer.

This company is impressive; they have grown substantially over recent years due to their mega success. They are financially stable, with a great reputation and people want to work for them. You will be based in their very large, modern, busy distribution warehouse within their chilled department.

This is an amazing TTP ( TEMP TO PERM ) job opportunity to join an existing team, and the chance to be offered a permanent position for the right candidate after 12 weeks. As a team you work together to ensure all products are picked, loaded onto a pallet, which is on a low level order picker, and then wrapped ready for dispatch. The team manage fresh chilled products, such as fruit and vegetables, where they have less than a 10 day shelf life, so working quickly and effectively is imperative.

You will work from 6 pm, arriving at 5.45 pm so you are ready to start. You will work a seven hour shift, usually finishing at 2 am or until job is done. They are open every day of the year, excluding Christmas Eve Night and Christmas Day Night. Everyone works on planned rotas; the rota is five nights on and three nights overtime on your day off, or earlier or later once you have proved yourself.

To be considered for this opportunity, you will need experience working in a fast paced physical environment, and to be able to apply yourself well. You must be of a good level of English , both written and oral.

You will need to be happy to provide reference details, pass a criminal check and be happy with ad hoc drug and alcohol testing. Due to the location being just outside of Chelmsford town centre, you will need your own car or motor bike; however some flexibility can be considered if you live in Chelmsford and have a push bike.

The Night shift rate is based on to rates of pay, the first 4 hours @ £9.00 and the last 4 hours at £10.00 for the first 12 weeks, increasing to £12.67 per hour from week 13 onwards. Then if you become permanent it will increase again after 1 year to £14.37.plus benefits. You will be paid every Friday, one week behind the week that you work.
