Job Description

Our client are a leading distributor of sheet material and sell to many different markets including - sign and display, digital printing and fabrication. You will need a reach forklift licence, supervised in a warehouse and be computer literate to be considered for this exciting opportunity.

Our client is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to assist the Operations Manager controlling the warehouse and transport department. You will help to manage a team of 11 members of staff including machine operators, warehouse staff, and drivers whilst enabling the business to grow and meet the demand of a varied customer base.

A hands on approach will be required whilst learning the business and aiding the implementation of new working methods.

Typical work activities include:
Planning, coordinating and monitoring the receipt, material processing and dispatch of goods; motivating, organising and encouraging teamwork within the workforce to ensure productivity targets are met, monitoring staff performance and progress with a good keeping stock control systems up to date and ensuring inventory accuracy.
maintaining standards of health and safety. You will have initiative and decisiveness;problem-solving and an ability to work on own initiative
the ability to work under pressure.

This is a demanding role that will require 100% commitment from the successful candidate. This is based on a 42 hour week Monday to Friday and you will be required to ensure the goals are met. In return you receive a competitive salary, share of the annual bonus scheme, admission to the company pension scheme after 3 months and 22 days annual holiday as well as 8 bank holidays.
