Warehouse Supervisor

Job Description

Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our Belfast client to recruit a new full time and permanent Warehouse Supervisor

They are seeking a highly organised and efficient customer focused Warehouse Supervisor who excels in overseeing warehouse operations with minimal direct involvement.

This role requires strong leadership skills, meticulous attention to detail and the ability to streamline processes to ensure optimal efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have experience managing warehouse operations, implementing systems for stock management and leading a team to meet and exceed performance targets.

The duties will include the following:

  • Develop and implement efficient warehouse processes and procedures to optimise workflow and maximise productivity.
  • Oversee stock management including receiving, storing and despatching goods to ensure accuracy and minimise errors.
  • Minimise offcut stock in cutting procedures to optimise the stock useage.
  • Lead and motivate warehouse staff to achieve optimum performance and maintain a safe, organised working environment.
  • Analysis production schedule to improve performance.
  • Measuring cut billets regularly to maintain quality of product being dispatched, and ensuring all cutting jobs are recorded and documented as required by warehouse operatives.
  • Reporting all defective equipment to management, while trying to find a safe, quick and economical solution to any issues arising.
  • Minimising Non-conformance's within the warehouse, by applying the above to the supervision and leadership of all warehouse operatives.
  • Adoption and enforcement of all company Health & Safety policies, working in conjunction with the Operations Manager.
  • Carrying out weekly cycle counts and stock checks as they arise.
  • Ensuring that the quality and presentation of the product being dispatched is of a high standard in accordance with the company's quality statement and implementing a programme of continuous quality improvement with the help of the Operations Manager.
  • Assist with picking and cutting of customer orders as required.
  • Physically demanding role at times.
  • Assist the Operations Manager with other ad-hoc tasks as required.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to coordinate warehouse activities and fulfil customer orders efficiently.
  • Look at cost savings in the department and opportunities for leaner processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practises and technological advancements in warehouse management to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and skills:

  • Proven experience (3+years) in warehouse management, preferably in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office, especially excel.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practises in warehouse operations.
  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with the team.
  • Ability to thrive in a hands-off management style, empowering teams to take ownership of their responsibilities while providing support and guidance as needed.

  • 39 hours per week 8.30am-5.30pm Mon - Thurs, 8.30am-4.30pm Friday.
  • Overtime paid at 1.4 rate.
