I am recruiting for a Wordpress Developer based in Birmingham for an industry leading B2B marketing, PR and digital company. They are offering a highly competitive salary of up to £26,000 with some fantastic benefits.

THE ROLE
As the agency's Wordpress Developer, you will offer your expertise and support for the multi-disciplinary cluster comprising of marketing communications, PR, digital and social media. You will help design and build affective websites, mainly with Wordpress and including WooCommerce and API integration. Communicating updates with account managers, designers, fellow developers. Creation of occasional email templates.

TYPICAL DAILY JOB DUTIES - WHAT WILL YOU BE RESPONSIBLE FOR?
Write and test PHP in an Object-oriented style
Write and test JavaScript in a modular, configurable, reusable, and DRY format
Adhere to project Coding Standards such as PSR and WordPress
Advanced WordPress knowledge
Experience setting up WooCommerce websites and payment gateways
Create stand-alone plugins and themes that handle integration through filters and actions
Integrate 3rd Party API's
Understanding of website optimisation building for high performance
Work with version control. Push, pull, and resolving basic merge conflicts
Provide constructive feedback in code reviews
What we'd be impressed by:
Mac proficiency
Standards compliant HTML Email templates
Understanding of LAMP hosting environment
Integrating your work to benefit SEO
Understand the basics of design, front-end development, and user testing to aid integration with your developments
Exposure to Sketch - the ability to pull out colours, sizes, and images from designer's mock-ups

PERSON SPECIFICATION
A minimum of 12 months Social Media Executive experience working in a studio environment
Experience of improving legacy code bases
Have previously written a theme or plugin from scratch, without the use of a 3rd party base.
Experience of working with WooCommerce websites and payment gateways
Experience of installing WordPress, plugins, and themes with Composer
Creating custom meta fields, from scratch, using a library like CMB2, or using Advanced Custom Fields plugin.
Experimenting with the new WordPress (Gutenberg) blocks.
