Job Description

My client is now recruiting a Workforce Planning Officer due to continued growth and development in the business. The successful candidate will be tasked with developing and implementing strategies to create an effective workforce. You will also organise budget and establishment information to ensure that accurate and precise information is stored on HR business systems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
" Develop, implement and publish an annual and a 3-year workforce plan that includes all large recruitment intakes, promotion boards and specialist training.
" Monitor and report on the performance of the HR service in line with the Workforce Plan. Make recommendations to adjust plan as necessary.
" Analyse and monitor workforce statistics including retention, leavers and diversity profiles to identify trends and gaps, making recommendations to address these.
" Develop and maintain strong working relationships with strategic and operational line managers across organisations to understand organisational objectives and ensure workforce resources and recruitment plans meet client expectations (both long and short term).
" Work with Heads of Department to make sure any plans for re-structures, workforce modernisation or service reviews are fed into the workforce planning process.
" Be responsible for the accuracy, consistency and quality of the workforce data held on the HR system and challenge any deviation from it.
" Audit, validate and reconcile Establishment Data
" Proactively identify and produce performance management information and statistical data to enable managers to regularly monitor and challenge their own establishments.
" Ensure that maximum benefits are realised from the use of HR systems and support the development of new E-Systems to meet the changing needs of the organisation.
" Produce performance and management information on a range of topics as required.

Essential Skills:
" Previous experience of workforce planning, or significant experience of collating, analysing, forecasting and presenting data.
" IT Skills - Intermediate MS Excel, Outlook and Word
" Accustomed to working in a challenging fast paced environment & able to meet deadlines.
" Excellent communicator - both verbal & written, and able to demonstrate confidence in communicating with senior managers.
" Uses listening skills & questioning techniques to gain relevant information.
" Meticulous attention to detail, with excellent organisational and planning skills - able to work to tight time constraints.
" Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a wide range of people gaining credibility at all levels.
" Strong influencing & negotiating skills.
" Able to challenge current practices in a constructive manner.
" Self-motivated, with a problem-solving approach.


Desirable Skills:
" Experience of working within a police environment
" Experience of working on Oracle systems


Job type - Permanent
Hours - 25 to 30 hours per week
Salary - £27k to £28k Circa
Benefits - Pension, free parking, 24-hour gym use, holidays
