Job Description

EXPERIENCED WORKSHOP MANAGER
Inverness
Salary Negotiable (£25-35k)

A multi-award-winning business based on the outskirts of Inverness is actively seeking to find a new Workshop Manager who will be responsible for Managing a growing team and ultimately for the smooth running of the Caravan Council Approved Workshop.

Working along side other departments, the Workshop Manager will report to the Owner/Director
The role will include the following :-

JOB DESCRIPTION
To maximise profitability and commercial opportunity from the Workshop Department. Ensuring it is financially viable and a positive contributor to business operations
Line Manage the workshop team conducting regular appraisals, providing support, motivation and training.
Manage training & development plans for the workshop team, identifying skills shortages and enabling training to be undertaken if needed
Recruit and plan staffing with succession planning considerations.
Manage the H&S responsibility for the workshop dept, including staff training on tools and equipment used within the workshop dept, to ensure all HSE requirements are being met at all times.
Ensure COSHH records are maintained along with risk assessments and ensure implementation of any remedial actions required are undertaken as a priority.
Provide complete budgetary control for all workshop services, ordering tools and equipment as needed to ensure safe operations.
Undertake quality control processes and continuous improvement practices, to enable the workshop to operate efficiently.
Maintain networking relationships with other workshops within the area who may be able to provide additional support or expertise.
Co-ordinate the annual National Caravan Council Approved Workshop Scheme audit and ensure tools and calibration certificates are maintained and recorded.
Identify opportunities to market and promote the company`s workshop services.
Identify opportunities for product promotion and liaise with the sales manager to enable promotions to customers.
Assist with and attend trade shows / exhibitions.
Identify and implement opportunities to improve the company`s procedures.
Assist the company in working towards / achieving external accreditation and quality awards.
Be available for emergency call out situations with the workshop team or wider business support.
Support the Director and other colleagues as required, ensuring that the workshop team is growing alongside the wider business operations, identifying opportunities to improve workshop facilities and plans for the future.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS
" Experience of a busy workshop environment
Excellent customer service skills
Strong communicator, both written and verbal
Understanding of Health and Safety and COSHH regulations
Confident, outgoing personality; friendly telephone manner
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office applications
Good at prioritising workload
Ability to remain calm under pressure at busy times
Ability to embrace change and committed to personal development
Attention to detail
Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week over 5 days (Mon - Sat)
