Entry-Level Accounts Assistant (Maternity Cover - Fixed Term)
Location - Cookstown] - Full-time - Fixed-term (Maternity Cover)
£30,000 per annum
Ideal for recent graduates or those starting their finance career


Brook Street Recruitment is working on behalf of our Belfast client who is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join their Finance team as an Accounts Assistant on a fixed-term maternity cover contract.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone just out of university or at the start of their finance career to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced and supportive environment. Whether you've recently graduated or completed an accounting technician qualification, this role will give you real-world exposure to core finance.

Duties

  • Supporting bank reconciliations for multiple accounts in various currencies
  • Helping to prepare month-end customer statements and assist with direct debit collections
  • Assisting with monthly management accounts (fixed asset reconciliation, intercompany invoicing, journal posting, and analysis)
  • Processing supplier invoices for smaller group companies accurately and on time
  • Liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to resolve queries
  • Supporting with VAT returns (UK & Ireland), EC Sales List, TSS and Intrastat submissions
  • Helping ensure invoices are approved and paid in line with company processes
  • Supporting the finance team during busy periods with reporting and ad hoc tasks.

Criteria

  • A recent finance, accounting or business graduate, or someone with equivalent experience
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
  • Confident user of Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Good communicator with the ability to work well in a team
  • A proactive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn and get involved.
