Job Title: Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner (Part-Time)
Location: Coventry, UK
Contract Type: Part-Time


A well-established organisation is seeking a committed and compassionate Domestic Abuse Refuge Practitioner to join its specialist team in Coventry. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals affected by domestic violence and abuse, helping them rebuild their lives in safety and dignity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred support to women and children experiencing domestic abuse.

  • Complete risk assessments and develop safety plans tailored to individual needs.

  • Support clients in accessing legal, housing, health, and other essential services.

  • Maintain accurate and confidential case records.

  • Work in partnership with external agencies to ensure coordinated support.

  • Contribute to training and awareness initiatives within the community.

  • Participate in team meetings and service development activities.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • I am looking for candidates that can speak a BME language, eastern European or African Caribbean languages

  • Relevant qualification in social work, counselling, or a related discipline

  • Experience supporting vulnerable individuals, particularly in domestic abuse settings.

  • Strong understanding of the impact of domestic violence on individuals and families

  • Excellent communication and people skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and relevant legislation

  • Empathetic, resilient, and non-judgmental approach
