Job Description
Job Title: Outreach Support Worker / Keyworker (Full-Time, 40hrs)
Location: North & East London
Salary: up to £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
About Us:
The organisation is a dedicated provider of supported semi-independent accommodation for Local Authority Care Leavers aged 16+. Our mission is to empower young people to develop essential Independent Living Skills and transition successfully into adulthood.
The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Outreach Support Worker / Keyworker to support Looked After Children (LAC) and Care Leavers aged 16+ in semi-independent living placements. You will provide practical, emotional, and developmental support, focusing on building life skills and promoting independence.
This is an outreach-based role requiring travel to multiple properties across North and East London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver keywork sessions and create tailored support plans
- Support young people with life skills including budgeting, cooking, cleaning, education, and employment
- Maintain accurate records and progress reports
- Build positive, professional relationships with young people
- Liaise with social workers, local authorities, and external agencies
- Ensure strict adherence to safeguarding policies and procedures
Qualifications & Requirements:
Essential:
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) or equivalent
- Up-to-date Safeguarding Training
- Emergency First Aid at Work or Paediatric First Aid Certificate
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle (essential for outreach)
Desirable:
- Level 3 or above in Youth Work, Social Work, or similar discipline
- Mental Health Awareness Training
- Knowledge of key legislation (e.g. Children Acts 1989 & 2004, Leaving Care Act 2000)
- Understanding of Independent Living Skills frameworks
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
