Job Description
Location: Barry, Vale of Glamorgan area (onsite parking)
Type: Part-time (3 days a week), hybrid position
Board-Level Experience: Gain invaluable exposure to high-level governance and decision-making processes, supporting the Chairperson and Board of Trustees in driving strategic direction and positive community impact.
Dynamic Environment: Serve as the linchpin between the board and internal/external stakeholders, operating at the heart of our organisation and interfacing with esteemed individuals, including the Charity's Patron and the Royal Office.
Varied Responsibilities: From orchestrating board meetings and crafting meticulous agendas to facilitating seamless communication and record-keeping, you'll spearhead critical administrative functions that underpin effective governance.
Professional Growth: Collaborate closely with Executive Directors and the Governance and Risk Manager, honing your skills in executive support, governance best practices, and regulatory compliance.
Commitment to Diversity: Play a pivotal role in championing diversity within the board, contributing to a culture of inclusively and representation through strategic support to the Nominations Committee in trustee recruitment.
Team Collaboration: Join a cohesive team dedicated to achieving collective objectives and making a tangible difference in the community.
What You'll Do:
- Provide comprehensive administrative and executive support to the Chairperson and Board of Trustees, ensuring seamless operations at the highest level of governance.
- Serve as the primary liaison for the board, maintaining professionalism and confidentiality in all communications with internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead the coordination of board meetings, meticulously preparing agendas, papers, and minutes to facilitate informed decision-making and accountability.
- Manage correspondence, meticulously proofread documents, and maintain records in strict adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate complex schedules, travel arrangements, and event logistics for board members, optimising efficiency and effectiveness in fulfilling the duties.
- Drive the trustee recruitment and induction processes, prioritising diversity and inclusion to cultivate a board that reflects the communities we serve.
- Undertake company secretary duties, ensuring meticulous documentation and regulatory compliance.
