Activities Co-Ordinator- Young People


Permanent, 33 hours per week, Morecambe.

Working for an established housing provider, this role will be to work in a homeless hostel project for your people who present with homelessness and some who may have mental health issues and learning difficulties. Supporting young people aged 16-24, the role of Activities Co-ordinator will be varied and will require the right person to be able to engage with and support the young people with developing programmes and activities.

The role:

  • You will be required to plan, organise, and facilitate a variety of engaging activities tailored to the needs and interests of the young people.
  • Coordinate with team members and external partners to develop innovative project work and activity programmes.
  • Ensure activities are delivered safely, inclusively, and in accordance with organisational policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records of activities, attendance, and participant feedback to inform continuous improvement.
  • Promote activities through various channels to maximise participation and community engagement.
  • Provide support and guidance to participants, encouraging involvement and fostering a positive environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new initiatives aligned with organisational goals.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of activities, making adjustments as necessary to enhance quality and impact.
  • This role is based on 33 hours per week with the requirement to be flexible to work evenings and some weekends.

The ideal candidate:

  • Ideally you will have a background in Youth work, or have worked with young people to support them in a similar setting.
  • Previous experience in activity coordination, community engagement, or similar roles within a social or care setting is desirable. These are non limited to cooking skills, delivering youth qualifications, attending residential weekends, photography, arts and crafts etc.
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging a diverse range of participants.
  • Relevant qualifications in activity planning, community work, or related fields are desirable.
  • Experience with project work, including developing and implementing new initiatives.
  • Technical proficiency with activity planning tools and record-keeping systems.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends as required.
  • Passion and commitment to wanting to make a difference and see the desired outcomes for the young people.
