Administrative Officer - Power of Attorney Services
Location: Birmingham City Centre
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm (37 hours per week)
Pay: £13.25 per hour
Contract: Temporary, with potential for extension
Working Arrangement: Fully onsite
Our Public Sector client in Birmingham City Centre is seeking a motivated and organised Administrative Officer to join their Power of Attorney Services team. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a vital service supporting vulnerable individuals and their families.
The organisation has a variety of roles across several departments, including casework, general administration (e.g., filing, post handling), quality assurance, document registration, and the contact centre contingency team. Successful candidates will be assigned to a department based on business needs and may be required to move between teams during the assignment.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
- Preparing documents for scanning and data input, and supporting these processes directly.
- Updating case management and management information systems to maintain accurate application progress and ensure colleagues remain informed.
- Completing personal statistical reports and escalating anomalies where necessary.
- Checking documents prior to dispatch, identifying potential data breaches, and taking corrective action as directed.
- Sorting and distributing incoming post across the organisation.
- Scheduling and accurately reporting customer payments for processing by cashiers.
- Maintaining the physical filing system, including creating and organising files.
- Delivering excellent customer service by providing clear, accurate, and timely information.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in telephone-based work.
- Experience in customer-facing roles.
Additional Requirements:
This position is subject to a Standard DBS check and three years of employment referencing.
