Executive Officer
Location: Sheffield, Vulcan House Steel, Croydon Ruskin Square
Hybrid 60% office 40% remote. Full-time attendance is required for the duration of training (Hybrid working can only be permitted once approved by the manager and when they are satisfied that the candidate is ready to do so).
Pay: £15.53 per/hr
Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5hr pr/w, 9am - 5pm, Flexi as long as they complete 7.24hrs and logged on core times 10am - 3pm.

Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Executive Officer.

List the duties of the role:

* Assessing the data held on Home Office systems and paper records under the DPA 2018 and making decisions on whether to disclose or apply restrictions. Caseworkers must be able to justify any restrictions they make on a disclosure. Ability to focus/concentrate fully for extended periods while reading digitalised information/documents on screens.
* Acting in a timely manner upon any requests/tasks you receive to respond to Subject Access Requests to ensure the 30-day target is met. Personal targets and expectations will be set throughout the training period and once the officers are signed off to work independently.
* Working within a team of over 90 Caseworkers based across the Sheffield and Croydon estates, communicating effectively with internal stakeholders and customers both in person and remotely.
* Working within the legal policies and procedures set by the GDPR and the Unit.
* Escalating policy or procedural issues/complexities to SARU's Internal Compliance Team promptly.
* Prioritising weekly allocation of caseload to deal with urgent cases from Pre Action Protocols (PAPs) to Information Commissioners Office (ICO) complaints and cases nearing target. When required, you may need to complete additional case-working tasks.
* Accepting and acting upon feedback and guidance from Quality Checkers and managers and undertaking refresher training whenever necessary.
* Developing an awareness of and participating willingly in SARU's Transformation agenda.
* Playing an active role in team meetings whether in person or remotely and be able to work well with others in the Casework Team and wider SARU to achieve target goals.

Training:
No annual leave during training period - 4-6 weeks

Clearance level (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application):
CTC + Basic DBS

Role specific requirements:
You must hold a valid passport and must have lived in the UK for longer than 3 years. Please note that period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 3 years will unfortunately not be accepted. This role requires security clearance that will be processed for you, if successful.
