Key Responsibilities

  • Support the full recruitment process - drafting job adverts and job descriptions/person specifications, posting adverts, handling applications, short-listing, organising interviews, and issuing offer letters.

  • Coordinate staff inductions, on boarding and exit procedures, and any relevant mandatory training (e.g. safeguarding / compliance training) or documentation.

  • Provide general HR administrative support - respond to HR queries, manage communications (email, mail, HR inbox), support payroll paperwork where required, and assist with staff absence / leave documentation.

  • Work collaboratively with senior management / HR Manager to ensure HR policies and compliance with relevant legislation (including safeguarding, data protection, right to work, etc.) are maintained.

Person Specification / What We're Looking For

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills - ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain accurate records, and prioritise workload under time pressure.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with discretion and confidentiality.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) and comfortable with HR information systems / databases.

  • Attention to detail, especially around compliance, record-keeping, safeguarding and data protection.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team; supportive, flexible, and responsive to the needs of a busy school environment.

  • Previous admin or HR experience desirable - school-based experience a plus but not essential.

What We Offer

  • Hourly pay at £15 per hour.

  • A supportive, friendly working environment Opportunity to gain (or build on) HR experience in the education sector, including end-to-end recruitment, compliance and employee life-cycle management.

  • Scope for responsibility and variety - no two days are the same: you'll interact with staff, manage sensitive data, support recruitment, compliance, training and general admin.
