Job Description

Brook Street is seeking an Internal Audit Assistant Manager to join our client's growing team in Belfast. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced audit professional to lead client engagements, support junior staff, and contribute to internal audit practice development.

Role Overview:
As an Internal Audit Assistant Manager, you will conduct internal audits across financial, compliance, and operational areas. You'll evaluate internal controls, identify risks, and recommend improvements to enhance operational efficiency. You will also oversee junior auditors and play a key role in their development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead internal audit assignments based on risk assessments

  • Evaluate internal controls and suggest practical, risk-based improvements

  • Prepare clear, concise audit reports with actionable recommendations

  • Build strong client relationships and provide insights during audits

  • Mentor junior team members and support team development

Requirements:

  • Degree (2:1 or above) and membership of the Chartered IIA or a CCAB-recognised body (e.g., ICAEW, ACCA, ICAS)

  • Experience in internal or external audit, with team leadership exposure

  • Strong knowledge of audit methodologies, internal controls, and risk management

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and audit software tools
