Brook Street Recruitment is delighted to partner with a prestigious and highly respected legal firm in Belfast city centre to recruit an experienced Legal Secretary on a full-time, permanent basis.
Our client is the leading provider of legal defence and regulatory services to the healthcare sector across the island of Ireland. With a specialist team of legal experts, the firm delivers comprehensive, high-quality legal support to doctors, dentists, nurses, pharmacists and opticians. They also work closely with private clinics, health and social care providers, medical defence organisations, malpractice insurers, and residential and domiciliary care homes.

The Role
As Legal Secretary, you will play a pivotal role in supporting fee earners and ensuring the smooth running of a busy legal office. Duties will include:
- Producing, formatting and proofreading high-quality correspondence, contracts and legal documentation using the firm's case management system
- Comprehensive document management including drafting, filing, reports and meeting minutes
- Maintaining accurate digital and physical case files, ensuring all records are up to date
- Audio typing from dictation and written instructions
- Supporting case preparation and court documentation
- Liaising professionally with clients, colleagues and partners
- Managing priorities effectively to meet strict deadlines
- Providing administrative support while maintaining exceptional service standards
Essential Criteria
We are keen to speak with candidates who demonstrate:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar Legal Secretary role requiring a high level of accuracy
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel, Outlook and Teams
- Excellent typing and administrative skills
- Experience using case management software
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational ability
- A professional, discreet and client-focused approach
- The ability to work on your own initiative and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
Experience within a professional services environment would be advantageous.
