Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children's residential service.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and quality standards.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of care staff to deliver high-quality care.
  • Develop and implement individual care plans tailored to the needs of each child.
  • Maintain effective communication with children, families, and external agencies.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of care practices and make improvements as necessary.
  • Manage budgets and resources efficiently to ensure the sustainability of the service.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive environment that encourages personal growth and development.


Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a managerial role within a children's residential setting.
  • Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding practices.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and best practices in children's care.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and training.
