Temporary Technical Officer - Housing - Inverness-shire, UK

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the successful delivery of repairs and Void services across homes, buildings, and property holdings within a designated geographical area.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations and other statutory requirements, including EESSH/SHQS standards.
  • Manage contractors effectively to ensure service delivery meets set standards and contractual obligations.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of scheduled and cyclical maintenance programmes.
  • Undertake Stock Condition Surveys of Void properties to inform maintenance and investment planning.
  • Maintain accurate records of work and property data within the CRM system.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Educated and experienced in a building-related discipline, with a trade or construction qualification.
  • Proficient in ICT tools, including Microsoft 365 applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload effectively.
  • Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
  • Ability to interpret bills of quantities, technical drawings, building contracts, and specifications.
  • Experience in managing budgets and preparing reports.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with willingness to travel within the Highlands and occasionally outside the region.
  • Professional, calm, and confident manner, with the ability to work well within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Strong commitment to ESG principles and sustainable practices.
  • Flexible working hours to accommodate project needs and site visits.
