Job description

Youth Support Worker - Semi‑Independent Living

Bristol & Gloucestershire Pay: £12.40/hour weekdays * £13.40/hour weekends

Support young people aged 16-18+ in semi‑independent homes, helping them build confidence, independence, and essential life skills.

Role Summary

  • Deliver key‑work sessions and day‑to‑day support.

  • Promote education, training, healthy routines, and positive decision‑making.

  • Safeguard young people and report concerns promptly.

  • Support with daily tasks, appointments, and independent living skills.

  • Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and meetings.

  • Build strong relationships with young people, staff, and external agencies.

  • Facilitate house meetings and encourage participation.

  • Work flexibly, including covering shifts and supporting other homes when needed.

Requirements

  • 1 year's experience with young people (desirable).

  • Willing to work towards QCF/NVQ Level 3.

  • Ability to lone‑work; sleep‑ins may be required.

  • Enhanced DBS required.

  • Flexibility around rota changes and bank holidays.
