Administrative Officer - Poole Magistrates
Location: Poole Magistrates Court, BH15
Hours: Full Time, Monday to Friday (8-4 or 9-5 flexibility required)
Pay: £12.36 per hour (increasing to £13.25 after 12 weeks)
Contract: Temporary until August 2026, with potential for extension
Working Pattern: Fully onsite
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for two Administrative Officers to join a respected government department based at Poole Magistrates. This is an excellent opportunity to build public sector experience within a supportive, structured team. Full training will be provided. These roles sit within the Enforcement Team and support the processing and management of court‑ordered fines.
Key Responsibilities
- Working through a scheduled list of tasks as part of the enforcement process
- Carrying out investigative checks and completing intelligence-based work
- Managing administrative duties including responding to emails, updating accounts, and creating new orders
- Ensuring accurate data input across internal systems
- Supporting wider enforcement activity as required
- No telephone work. *This is not a customer facing role*
What We're Looking For
- IT literate and confident using computer systems
- Administrative experience is desirable but not essential
- A friendly, easy‑going approach with the confidence to ask questions
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Proactive attitude with initiative to take on additional tasks once allocated work is completed
*Full training will be provided*
Additional Requirements
- Ability to provide reference information upon request
- Willingness to complete a Basic DBS check or be on the DBS Update Service
