Admin Officer
Location: Vulcan House Steel, Sheffield
Hybrid 60% office 40% remote. Full-time attendance is required for the duration of training (Hybrid working can only be permitted once approved by the manager and when they are satisfied that the candidate is ready to do so).
Pay: £13.85 per/hr
Working Days/Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5hr pr/w, 9am - 5pm

Brook Street in partnership with the Home Office has a fantastic opportunity to join their team as an Admin Officer.

List the duties of the role:

  • Taking calls from members of the public on Windrush and compensation matters, offering accurate, empathetic advice as the first point of contact and acting as the link between customers and casework teams.
  • Handling difficult or complex conversations with sensitivity and integrity, delivering a high?quality, customer?focused service that reflects the 'human face' of the Home Office.
  • Providing administrative and direct customer support within the Complex Team, working closely with vulnerable customers to offer a tailored service throughout their Windrush journey.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across all Windrush teams to support customers, including identifying vulnerabilities and helping individuals navigate their cases.
  • Producing and maintaining accurate records of all customer interactions, including administrative support and initial registration of compensation claims.
  • Managing all administrative tasks related to the customer journey, such as handling correspondence and communicating with customers in writing and by phone as required.
  • Covering the Windrush Helpline's operating hours (9am-5pm) on a rota basis.

Required: Call Centre background

Training:
No annual leave during training period - 3 months

Clearance level (to be applied for by Brook Street upon a successful application):
SC + Basic DBS

Role specific requirements:
You must hold a valid passport and must have lived in the UK for longer than 5 years. Please note that period of 6 months or longer spent outside of the UK in the last 5 years will unfortunately not be accepted. This role requires security clearance that will be processed for you, if successful.
