Court Usher - Birmingham

Full-time | 37 hours per week | Monday to Friday (8am-4pm / 9am-5pm, flexibility needed)
£12.21 per hour, rising to £12.95 after 12 weeks
Temporary until March 2026, with the potential for extension

We are currently recruiting for a Court Usher to work in the heart of Birmingham. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference by helping to ensure that court hearings run seamlessly and that all visitors receive a professional and supportive experience.

What you'll be doing:

  • Preparing and setting up courtrooms before hearings (e.g. ensuring water, pads, and paperwork are ready)
  • Greeting court users and providing clear directions and assistance
  • Managing court lists and keeping hearings running to schedule
  • Handling court files and paperwork accurately
  • Recording case outcomes and updating systems
  • Supporting judges, legal professionals, and members of the public throughout the day

About you:

You'll have excellent communication and organisational skills, with a calm, professional approach. You'll be comfortable speaking to people from all walks of life and enjoy providing great customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Previous experience in a public-facing role is desirable, but full training will be provided.

Successful candidates for this role will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and 3 years of referencing.
