Administrative Officer (AO) - Ministry of Justice

Location: The Shirehall, Foregate Street, Worcester, WR1 1EQ
Contract: Temporary (with likely extension)
Working Pattern: Fully on-site

Pay: Minimum Wage rising to £13.25 after week 12
Start Date: ASAP
Clearance Required: Enhanced DBS (will be provided for the successful applicant)

About the Role

We are recruiting a highly organised and motivated Administrative Officer to join the Ministry of Justice at The Shirehall in Worcester. This is a varied and rewarding role, supporting the smooth running of court operations and administrative processes.

Full training is provided; no prior administrative experience is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support daily listing functions, including scheduling and organising court hearings.
  • Assist with logistical planning for court cases on a daily and fortnightly basis.
  • Liaise with jurors, handle queries, and process jury related expenses.
  • Respond to enquiries to the admin office, ensuring excellent customer service.
  • Process applications such as appeals, variations and special measures.
  • Provide general administrative support including filing, data entry and handling phone enquiries.
  • Ensure adherence to court etiquette, policies and procedures.
  • Support the wider team with additional court administration tasks as required.
