Registered Manager - Children's Home
Location: Monmouthshire
Salary: Up to £45,000
Full-time, 40 hours + on-call rota
A great opportunity for an experienced residential childcare professional to lead a children's home supporting young people with emotional, behavioural and developmental needs.
The Role
- Lead the day-to-day running of the home and ensure high-quality, child-centred care.
- Maintain a safe, warm and nurturing environment for young people.
- Oversee routines, activities, household tasks and key working.
- Ensure CIW compliance and drive continuous improvement.
- Build positive relationships with young people, staff and external professionals.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the staff team through supervision, coaching and rota planning.
- Lead on care plans, risk assessments and documentation.
- Support effective behaviour management and safeguarding practice.
- Maintain strong communication, handovers and team meetings.
- Manage budgets, resources and contribute to recruitment.
About You
- Experience working with children in a residential setting.
- Strong understanding of child development, safeguarding and group dynamics.
- Confident leader with excellent communication skills.
- Able to manage challenging situations and work under pressure.
- IT literate and a full UK driving licence.
Qualifications
- Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Level 4 and 5 Leadership and Management (or already enrolled/working towards).
- Alternative recognised pathways (e.g. Social Work, Nursing, OT) also considered.
