Job Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and comprehensive lessons on technical design and technology topics to students of varying skill levels.
  • Develop and update curriculum materials, ensuring alignment with industry standards and technological advancements.
  • Assess student progress through assignments, projects, and examinations, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching methods and tools to enhance student engagement and understanding.
  • Support students in practical projects, guiding them through technical challenges and fostering innovation.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to design interdisciplinary programmes and improve teaching strategies.
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages curiosity and creativity.
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities to stay current with industry trends.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Proven experience in technical design, engineering, or related technology fields.
  • Relevant teaching or training experience, preferably within a vocational or educational setting.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, CAD software, and digital fabrication tools.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate learners.
  • Relevant certifications such as City & Guilds, BTEC, or equivalent in technology or design disciplines.
  • Technical proficiency in software applications including 3D modelling, prototyping, and programming languages.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse learning styles and abilities.
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
