Administrative Officer - Staffordshire HMCTS

Location: Stoke-On-Trent Staffordshire (Hybrid working)
Contract Type: 3months

Payrate: - 12.36/hr (initial for 12 weeks) and then 13.25/ hr
DBS: DBS Basic Check Required

About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Administrative Officer to join our team within the public sector. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast‑paced environment, enjoys problem‑solving, and is committed to delivering excellent service. You will provide essential administrative support to ensure the smooth and efficient running of day‑to‑day operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare papers and digital files for hearings, tribunals, and meetings.
  • Produce official court and tribunal documents.
  • Update and maintain case records on internal HMCTS systems.
  • Handle post, photocopying, filing, and data input.
  • Prepare meeting rooms, agendas, and training support materials.
  • Clerk civil and family courts, tribunals, and hearings.
  • Assist court users, including members of the judiciary and public.
  • Manage enquiries via phone, email, and face‑to‑face.
  • Support scheduling, listing, and issuing of court documents.
  • Draft standard letters, minutes, and reports.
  • Check and verify documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare bundles, collect information, and support statistical/financial tasks.

About You

  • We are looking for someone who is Organised and detail‑focused, able to prioritise workload effectively.
  • A strong communicator, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive problem‑solver, comfortable taking initiative when challenges arise.
  • Professional and reliable, with a strong understanding of confidentiality.
  • Confident working with IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications. Experienced in customer‑facing or public sector environments (desirable but not essential).
