Brook Street Social Care are currently recruiting dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team supporting children and young people across services in Sunderland, Gateshead and Newcastle.
This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people who may have experienced trauma, learning disabilities, emotional behavioural difficulties, or complex needs.
About the Role
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Provide day-to-day care and emotional support
- Promote independence and positive outcomes
- Support with daily routines, education and activities
- Build positive, trusting relationships
- Maintain accurate records and follow care plans
- Ensure safeguarding and well-being at all times
What We're Looking For
- A minimum of 6 months experience working in care within the United Kingdom
- Experience working with children and young people (residential or supported living preferred)
- A caring, patient and resilient nature
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends
- NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People (desirable but not essential)
- Full UK driving licence (desirable)
- A minimum of 2 professional references
