Senior Legal Advisor - Legal Department

Salary: £42,090 per annum, rising to £52,598 per annum after three years' service
Location: Head Office Manchester


An established national trade union is seeking to appoint a Senior Legal Advisor to join its Legal Department, based at its Head Office.

The Role
The postholder will deliver a comprehensive advice and representation service in employment and industrial law to members, representatives and officials. Responsibilities include preparing and managing employment casework, representing clients at employment tribunals, and overseeing the work of Employment Law Legal Advisors.


About You
The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • Qualification as an employment solicitor (desirable but not essential), or equivalent practical experience in employment law and tribunal work
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proven ability to prioritise workload, meet deadlines, and apply effective planning and organisational skills
  • Experience advising and representing clients in employment tribunal cases, including advocacy at hearings
  • Sound legal research skills
  • IT literacy, particularly in Microsoft Office applications
