Job description

TMD Scanning officer - IPO

Brook Street have a great opportunity to work with the Intellectual Property Office on a temporary basis. Please see the below details of the position and apply direct if you feel this position is of interest and suited to you.

Full time position (37 hours) Monday - Friday
Pay - £13.90 per hour

Temporary - currently running until 25/09/2026

Hybrid working

Main Duties:

  • Dealing with post coming into TMD Admin, sorting into relevant working trays (Designs and Trade Marks)
  • Scanning documents via Kofax, ensuring all relevant dates and application numbers are correct.
  • Capturing Trade mark and Design paper applications ensuring all information is captured correctly.
  • Answer queries (letter, e-mail and telephone) from internal and external customers.
  • Carry out preliminary examination of each formality in line with agreed quality criteria. Communicate any objections, clearly explaining the reasoning behind a decision.
  • Uploading emails and attachments to internal systems.
  • To support delivering excellent IP services through hybrid working, attending site as required, working remotely, engaging with my team and the wider IPO through Teams calls and video meetings, in line with the behaviours set out in The Deal.
  • To engage with the IPO's Transformation programme, by attending meetings as appropriate, engaging in activities, where appropriate feeding back to the team and supporting the project.

Other Info:

You will be expected to attend the office a minimum of 1 day a week (20% of your working hours). Although there may be flexibility to choose the day that suits you, you will also need to attend the office for training and other business essential work as and when required. This may be at short notice.
